The National History Museum "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu," Kruja Castle, witnessed the launch of the SHELeadersVR application. This innovative application, funded by the European Union, celebrates the historical and cultural contributions of medieval women leaders.
The event, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, featured a presentation by Prof. Selma Rizvić, Ph.D. (University of Sarajevo), project coordinator, the project’s VR director, Bojan Mijatović, MA, as well as an address by Assoc. Prof. Konstantinos Giakoumis (LOGOS University College), who played a pivotal role as expert historian in this project for Albania. In his address, Dr. K. Giakoumis promoted the Homo Digitalis project to the event’s attendants. The event culminated with the demonstration of the very VR application with equipment donated to the Museum in Kruja, as well as the revelation of Vojsava Tribalda’s dress, which was also donated to the Museum.
The SHELeadersVR application offers an immersive experience that brings to life the stories of influential medieval women leaders from the West Balkans, utilizing technologies in which the Homo Digitalis project aims to build capacities. Attendees had the opportunity to explore this cutting-edge technology and engage with history in an innovative and highly engaging way.
